SVG to PNG

Rasterize a safe SVG to PNG at a width and height you choose, keeping transparency when possible.

SVG to PNG workspace

Scripts and external resources in SVG are rejected. Transparency is kept in the PNG when the browser can paint it.

How to use it

Choose an SVG, set width and height, Create file, then Download. Dangerous SVG content is refused before rendering.

Example

Scripts, event handlers, javascript: URLs, foreignObject, and external hrefs are rejected.

Input

icon.svg at 512×512

Result

icon.png with a transparent background when the SVG has none

How it works

The SVG is checked, then drawn to a canvas through a blob URL and encoded as PNG. External network resources are not fetched by policy of the sanitizer.

Common errors

  • A script tag was present Remove scripts. They are not executed and the file is rejected.
  • The SVG could not be rendered Fix markup errors or unsupported paint servers.
  • Width 0 was refused Use 1–8000 pixels.

Limitations

Filters and fonts may differ by browser. This is not a full Inkscape export pipeline.

Privacy

The file stays in your browser. PepsTools does not upload it, store it, or send it to another service. Clear the tool or leave the page to drop it from memory.

Questions

Are external images loaded?

HTTP(S) href values are rejected up front so the tool does not pull remote resources.
