How to use it

Choose an image, zoom if needed, move over the canvas, and click to lock. Copy HEX copies the locked value.

How it works

Colors are read from canvas ImageData. Zoom only scales display size; sampling still uses source pixels.

Common errors

  • Nothing is locked Click the image after it loads.
  • Copy failed The browser blocked clipboard access. Select the HEX text manually.

Limitations

CMYK and indexed palette names are not shown. Files over the usual image limits are refused.

Privacy

The file stays in your browser. PepsTools does not upload it, store it, or send it to another service. Clear the tool or leave the page to drop it from memory.

Questions

Is the eyedropper a system API?

No. Sampling uses the canvas pixel under the pointer.
