Turn a local JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF into a Data URI with MIME type and size notes.

Declared formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF. Very large outputs are warned before copy.

Choose an allowed image. The Data URI appears automatically. Copy or Download the text.

How it works

The file bytes are Base64-encoded in the browser with the detected MIME type. Declared formats only.

Common errors

  • A TIFF was rejected Only JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF are accepted.
  • The warning about size appeared Embedding huge Data URIs in HTML is usually a bad idea.

Limitations

SVG is not accepted here; use SVG to PNG first if you need a raster Data URI.

Privacy

The file stays in your browser. PepsTools does not upload it, store it, or send it to another service. Clear the tool or leave the page to drop it from memory.
