How to use it
Choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Create file builds the pack. Download saves a ZIP. Put the files on your site and copy the link tags from README.txt into the head element.
Example
README.txt includes link tags for the icon, the 32 pixel PNG, and the Apple touch icon.
Input
A square logo PNG
Result
favicon-pack.zip containing favicon.ico, PNGs at 16, 32, 48, and 180 pixels, and README.txt
How it works
Each size is drawn on a white square so a transparent logo stays visible on light and dark browser chrome. favicon.ico contains the 16 and 32 pixel PNGs in a PNG-in-ICO container. The 48 pixel PNG is a general shortcut icon. The 180 pixel PNG is the Apple touch size. The ZIP is stored, not recompressed, and it includes the HTML snippet.
Common errors
- The icon looks cropped The source is stretched to a square. Start from a square image if the artwork must not be stretched.
- An old browser ignores favicon.ico The ICO uses embedded PNGs, which current browsers read. The separate PNG files are the fallback listed in the README.
- The ZIP did not appear Create file must succeed before Download. A damaged image fails before the pack is built.
Limitations
The pack does not include a web app manifest, SVG favicon, or 512 pixel maskable icon. Animation is reduced to one frame. Files over 15 MB or 8000 pixels on a side are refused. The image is not uploaded.
Privacy
The file stays in your browser. PepsTools does not upload it, store it, or send it to another service. Clear the tool or leave the page to drop it from memory.
Questions
Which tags should the site use?
The README in the ZIP lists a favicon.ico link, a 32 pixel PNG link, and an apple-touch-icon link. Copy those into the head element and adjust the paths to where you placed the files.
