Merge PDF

Join two or more PDF files in the order you choose and download one document.

Merge PDF workspace

How to use it

Choose at least two PDF files. Use Up and Down to set the order, then Build PDF and Download. Each file must be an unencrypted PDF of 15 MB or less, and the result cannot exceed 200 pages.

Example

The list order is the page order. Move a file up or down before building the PDF.

Input

brief.pdf, then notes.pdf

Result

merged.pdf with the pages of brief.pdf followed by the pages of notes.pdf

How it works

The files are read with PDF-lib in the browser. Pages are copied in list order into a new document. Encrypted or damaged files are refused instead of being partially included.

Common errors

  • An encrypted PDF was selected This tool does not ask for a password. Remove the encryption in the program that created the file.
  • The merge button says two files are required Add another PDF. A single file is already one document.
  • A file was larger than 15 MB Split that file first or reduce it before merging.

Limitations

The tool does not recompress images inside the PDF and it does not repair a damaged cross-reference table. Form fields and annotations are copied when PDF-lib can copy the page. More than 10 files or 200 pages is refused so the tab does not run out of memory.

Privacy

The file stays in your browser. PepsTools does not upload it, store it, or send it to another service. Clear the tool or leave the page to drop it from memory.

Questions

Are the PDFs uploaded?

No. Reading, copying pages, and building the download happen in this browser.
