Encoding uses numeric character references for special and non-ASCII characters. Decoding understands named and numeric entities.
Common errors
- Decoded markup appeared as a tag on the page It should not. The result stays in a textarea as text.
- An incomplete entity remained Fix or remove the broken entity sequence.
Limitations
Not every obscure named entity from legacy HTML is guaranteed. Input over 200,000 characters is refused for decode.
Privacy
The text you paste is processed in your browser. PepsTools does not receive it, store it, or send it to another service.
Questions
Does decode render HTML?
No. You only see plain text in the result box.
